Why Belconnen Medical Centre?
Some of the Services We Offer
Belconnen Medical Centre is proud of its commitment to quality healthcare in Canberra.
We provide male circumcision services in Canberra. We use the Plastibell Method to circumcise male infants between the ages of 4 weeks and 4 months. The Plastibell Method is a well-known circumcision procedure that involves the placement of a plastic ring under the foreskin. Prior to the procedure, your child will receive local and topical anaesthetics.
Skin Cancer Checks
We detect and remove skin cancers in Canberra. Our doctors recommend regular skin cancer checks in Canberra – even if you don’t go outdoors much. Skin cancers generally develop as a result of exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, which is produced by the sun. People with fair skin, a large number of moles or a family history of skin cancer are sometimes at greater risk of developing skin cancers.
We provide health assessments (bulk-billed) for eligible patients. Your doctor may endorse you for a health assessment if you’re aged 40-49 years with a high risk of developing type 2 diabetes; aged 45-49 years with a risk of developing chronic disease, or aged 75 years or over. There may be other grounds on which to qualify for a health assessment, so please ask at our reception.
General Medical Check-ups
A periodic medical check-up is recommended for all patients. One of our friendly doctors will check your weight, blood pressure and resting heart rate, as well as ask questions about your lifestyle. The examining doctor may also suggest blood testing to ascertain your cholesterol level and to check for other health conditions, such as diabetes.
We provide the COVID-19 vaccination, along with seasonal flu vaccines. If you’re travelling overseas, we can also organise vaccinations for hepatitis A and B, typhoid, yellow fever, cholera, chickenpox, measles, tetanus, rabies, tuberculosis (TB), meningococcal disease and Japanese encephalitis. (Please book ahead of time to organise your travel vaccinations).
Asthma is a common condition that’s exacerbated by thunderstorms, winds and pollens. Our asthma clinic is designed to provide treatment and support for asthma sufferers in Canberra. Sufferers will have their respiratory health checked, and be advised on the appropriate treatment. Our caring doctors prescribe both asthma relievers and preventers.

Belconnen Medical Centre offers the community and our patients a wide range of health and medical services. Our aim is to give each one of our patients, whether casual or regular, a full and complete medical examination.
